I’ve long been looking for a safe + attractive in-car dog bed—and I’m so glad I found the one from black lab! So far it’s easy to clean, does not take up the whole back seat (one of my requirements!), looks great, and approved by my dog —she no longer tries to climb into the front seat with us! I also love that it has two harness clips so she can be secure.

There was a hiccup when I first received it, in that they sent me the wrong inserts, that said when I reached out to them asking what I should do, they promptly responded and sent me the correct ones very quickly, along with a little bit of merch for the mishap—which was appreciated :) I also didn’t have to deal with the headache of shipping back the pillows accidentally sent over!

Overall, very satisfied + would recommend black lab plus this fabulous car seat!

I’ve been using the Black Lab Adventure Tough Bed for a little over a month now with my Belgian Malinois, Prince, and I can honestly say it’s the best vehicle dog bed I’ve tried so far.

One of the biggest advantages is the design. Unlike many competing beds, the back is not bolstered, allowing it to sit flush against the vehicle seat and giving my dog more usable space. The front bolster is sturdy and maintains its shape, which is something I’ve struggled to find. Many other beds I’ve tested have soft, flimsy bolsters that bend and collapse too easily.

The materials and construction are also impressive. The fabric feels durable enough for an active dog, and the zippers are strong and well-made. I’ve owned other beds where the zippers failed or separated after a short period of use, but these appear much more robust.

Before purchasing this bed, I tried several alternatives, including one from For Paws and Cats and another similar design. Neither worked well. The rear bolstering reduced usable space, and the overall construction felt flimsy compared to the Black Lab Adventure Tough Bed.

Is it expensive? Yes. Can I say the price is fully justified? Not entirely. However, the lower-priced competitors clearly cut corners in materials and construction. After searching extensively—both in the United States and Europe—for a comfortable, durable vehicle bed that provides enough room for a Belgian Malinois, this is the best option I’ve found.

We use ours in the cargo space instead of the back seat. Our dog loves this thing. We keep the front bolster unzipped so he can just hop in and lay down. The mattress is removable so we grab it when we're going into a restaurant or somewhere we plan on staying awhile. Highly Recommend.
